Sleek Makeup Pout Paint and Recent makeup looks

Hi guys! so here is a few swatches that I made with my collection of Sleek's pout Paint.
My thoughts and reviews are:

  • Vibrant colors
  • Silky feel
  • Thick product
  • Goes on well
  • Conditions lips
  • Always Vibrant colors
  • Easy to apply with a lip brush
The only downside I have to these products are that they transfer easily when drinking, causing them to wipe off on glasses. So they often need a topping up or going over. And if like me you rub your lips together occasionally (and without thought) they of then crease or leave a line where the lip touches, so again it either needs a going over or a re-jigging.

Ok, so here are some recent looks I have done and put on my instagram (doeydoll_makeup) mainly using the lovely Sugarpill Cosmetics,  which I completely fell in love with and rave over!
Hope you like!

Review of Manic Panic Dye and new ones!

Hello everybody!

Once again I am sorry for the space between posts, I know, I suck!
But as much as I'd like to blog everyday, Im afraid I may run out of ideas or bore you all to death...
Por Examplé (whatever)
Today I washed my hair
with the usual stuff
Then I went the gym
Tomorrow I will be in work all day then sleep.

So yeah they may be far and few in between, but think of them as little gold nuggets you only find in every so often.

So the reason being for such a lengthy pause is basically.....I graduated in June, tried to get a job, got a job, quit before the first day (i was basically getting paid 3.75 per hour for 9 hours of work, pshk! yeah, right!). Worked my 2nd job a lot to get money to buy xmas prezzies.

So now I have a little more meeeee time, I thought I had better get cracking with this backlog.

So when I last left you I was raving to use the Manic Panic dyes as Holly Hagan kept promoting.
So for my monthly trip to the hairdressers I had the usual root lightener and then i showed her the dye and asked for her to slap it on instead of the usual Directions dye.
She kindly did so.
So where the issue starts:

  • The dye was sooo runny! it was like watered down, and as the hairdresser accidentally dropped a blob off her brush it went 'SPLAT' and due to it being runny, it splatted to a radius of like 10inches! it was everywhere!! So after bleaching the floor and many apologies later.....
  • When the dye was washed off (and most of it was) MY HAIR WAS ORANGE! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU CLASS AS 'PILLARBOX RED' MANIC PANIC? I CLASS THIS AS CARROT TOP!
  • After 1 wash the trickle of what was left of the red was basically gone, leaving me an orange/pink/brown mix.
Me in Manchester and my ginger entirety

Fantastic

So I gave up and had shit hair for weeks and sulked ALOT and had to put my trust in my wig collection for when I went Manchester (and to see 30 Seconds to Mars, fuck that I'm going to see them with shit hair!) So wigs + bobble hats it was. Needless to say I was sweltering after 1 hour and ended up ripping my purple one off in the toilets at Afflecks Palace and got grouchy.

So after weeks of searching and billions of reviews, recommendations and such, one name kept popping up on my screen....

And its not just because I read reviews on it i chose it (like I did stupidly with Manic Panic), i watched YouTube sessions and also one of my woman crushes and all time I-want-to-look-like:

Pinup Doll Ashley Marie

WHY I NO LOOK LIKE THIS!?!? :(

I loves her very much!

Anyway back to reality...

So apparently she uses the Chroma Silk Vivids in a equal mix of 'Orange' and 'Red', so straight to Ebay and about £13 later they came. But being more skint than a dog I chose to go back to my old school self and D.I.Y!! ( I always get nervous doing it myself as I cant blame anyone if my hair drops out!)

RESULT:
Excuse the scribble faces, I didn't want to scare anyone with no makeup on

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

This stuff is AMAZEBALLS!
  • Its thick like gel so stays on well and spreads evenly
  • It lasts long and is in large bottles
  • It can be all mixed together to create crazy colours
  • Its soo creamyyy
  • It has extracts of silk and protein in to fix and protect damaged hair
  • It doesn't transfer onto clothing or bedding like Directions
  • When it washes only a little comes out so no staining
So all is amazing

However due to my hair having old bleach at the ends, ex-brunette in the middle and strawberry blonde roots (where it is lifted with toner), the orange has taken to the roots and brunette and the red has taken more to the brittle porous ends. After a few washes is this only visible.
So from now on I think I will just use the red.

Next stop

Hellooooo my old friend
Hair extensions!

Peace, love and lipstick <3

New hair colour? the start of a journey..

So once again I'm wanting to change my hair colour, not just because of boredom, but because I am fed up of accommodating my life to my hair. How is it that big I hear you say?
Well........

  1. The colour, as much as i love it, is not as vibrant as I'd like
  2. It fades quite easily and goes patchy, with brown, pink and dark purple?!
  3. Every time I wash it so much dye comes out, so evidently I can not wash my hair in a white or porous surfaced shower. So I have to shower then go downstairs to my special metal basin and wash my hair in that to avoid staining stuff.
  4.  My hairdresser and salon get annoyed when they use the dye as it stains the sink and they have to wipe and clean it each time and god forbid they get any one their hands...
  5. When its freshly dyed it transfers onto my skin, clothes and bedding. So I have to buy dark bedding and use old sheets to sleep on when I stay over places or wash my hair
  6. If it gets wet from sweating at the gym or in the rain then the dye runs everywhere!
  7. My clips, bobbles, hair scarfs and hats are colored form the dye

Then in my old post I managed to get in contact with the lovely Holly Hagan from Geordie Shore and asked her about her hair dyes by Manic Panic -

So I bought her colour and did this review on it.
So after the bad outcome I have finally decided to go back to red and use the manic panic dye in either pillarbox red or wildfire which had a touch of orange in it.

So now I have months of product build up on my hair from the Directions dye colour, so as I avidly avoid bleach, thats out of the question if I want to keep my hair, then the last time I used the colour B4 before I went blonde, it suckeddd! I stunk of rotten eggs for a week and my hair was like straw for ages!
Admittadley it did work! but the issues that come along with it

Naaahhh

So I researched what to do to make it come out more. So far Ive seen bleach, colour remover, lemon juice, cut it all off or dye it black and start again. But what Ive chosen is to use an anti dandruff shampoo and try to go swimming as much as I can as both of these strip the color out of hair. But to keep its health Ive purchased a Morrocain oil mask from Home Bargains for 99p. (and dry shampoo as my ahir gets greasy quick!)

So I will keep you guys posted on whats happening, so for a while ill have shit hair, so bring on the wigsss!

Another thing im trying to do is vintage hair, as I have what is known as a 'cow lick' at the front of my hair, so its a hell of a pain when I want a fringe Ive decided to just go with it....
A cow lick example
What I have to do EVERYDAY to
sort my fringes out

So in the end Im hoping to get hair like the gorgeous Ashley Marie Pinup <3

Beautiful

Wish me luck!

Review of Bed Head TIGI

Hi guys, just giving and influx of blog updates before I go MIA again, sooo sorry!
I don't know how bloggers post EVERYDAY, I just don't know what to say or I genuinely don't have the time ( I am actually at work on the bar at the moment! naughty..)
So whenever I have a quiet night at work or have spare time ill put what I can up, usually like now Ive got a backlog of updates to put on.

So recently I bought off Amazon, a 750ml bottle of Bed Head TIGI shampoo and conditioner called 'Colour Combat' for £26.44
Ive only used it a handful of times but already have my gripes with it.

Gripes

The products are in a HUGE bottle, good for saving money and lots of uses, bad for when you want to take them somewhere ;like the gym, they are damn heavy! And also when you open them the spout pops up and you have to dispense more to put it down to twist and lock shut, so each time i MUST remember to do this or i end up wasting a pump.

The shampoo i have to do twice as the first time does not penetrate the first layer of hairspray or cloggyness, so double the usage, and the conditioner i have to use a couple of pumps to really lather my hair and get it soft, and to be able to put a brush through. Compared to the Herbal Essances Bee Strong I usually use, its no where near as good, the Bee strong leaves my hair soooooooooooo silky soft even after a minuit, whereas the TIGI one only makes it a little more manageable.

Also its fairly expensive for what it is...

Goods

OMG the smell...omg....its smells of toffe/ fudge....BE-A-UTIFUL!

And the colour of my hair has stayed better! usually by now it has faded and ginger pathes would be showing and Id be preparing for a top up with it only being Semi permanent. But no the colour has stayed vivid! It does exactly what it says on the bottle....but no more.

Overall, a great product if you have healthy hair and want to keep your colour and its vibrancy, but for people like me who have knackered their hair and are clinging onto it, then this is not really the best product. Id risk the color in order to keep my hair...
Now I have two 750ml of shampoo and conditioner left...so im going to use it every other wash in order not to waste it and to keep the colour for a little longer.

Dreaded weight loss and treats..

Yes, the thing that most girls I speak to are on. DIETS.
Seems like we spend most of our lives 'Dieting' or 'trying to loose weight'. And I am defiantly one of them!

I used to swim competitively for 10 years, 7-10 times a week, sometimes twice a day for 1 hour upto 3 1/2 (sunday mornings, urgh!) untill I turned 18 and found alcohol and student night up Hanley (£1) drinks!!!!
Sooo as the drinks flowed and the eating habits stayed the same then the metabolism slowed down.
I looked over photos progressing over time, along with my weight. Slowly hating the person in the mirror I joined Slimming world. An d what a huge waste of time and money that was! (for me anyway)
Paying £5 each week for someone to tell me Ive put weight on or lost some ( usually putting on overtook taking off) and thrown a book telling me what I can and can't eat. Pfffft!
I ended up quitting and just failing, until about February my other half finally had enough of my constant depressive state about my weight and having to comfort me every time I came out of the changing rooms of Topshop or other stores because I couldn't fit into any of the jeans or shorts.
So I joined my local gym and went nearly everyday, working myself from 200 cals each time to up to 600/1,000! I also got some mates to come classes with me like Zumba and Spinning, which I really enjoyed!
Also I started Kettlercise which was great too! But you cant walk for a few days after.

For months I saw no difference to my body and slowly got more tired and miffed, I was still at my heaviest. So the boyfriend suggested that I should measure myself instead of weighing because muscle weighs more than fat. Over time the numbers started to go down and down, I WAS FINALLY LOOSING WEIGHT! HOORAH!!! Alongside the exercise I was recommended to listen to and read Paul McKenna's-I can make you thin, CD and book. I admit at first I was skeptical about hypnotherapy and listening to the CD, but I kept trying it and it really worked! My cravings stopped and I stopped snaking and mindlessly eating junk food and really listened to my body. Amazing stuff! and I still use it now! Also I have noticed I am now picking healthier options, but keeping the treats in moderation or work it off the next day.

So I thought If I carry on loosing this weight and want to keep myself interested and motivated ( because it gets soo boring sometimes) I made a deal with myself, if at the end of each month I have lost weight then I will treat myself to a new Suagrpill eye shadow that i so respiratory need. Because some weeks I start to go days without exercising ans the laziness starts to creep in. But to my prevail and a few months later I have finally lost a stone! (yaaaay!) So as a well done I bought myself the 'Burning Heart palette' Ive been eyeing up for months <3
Suagrpills Burning Heart Palette

So my advice to you is not to torture yourself by eating salads at every meal time and snaking on nothing but cardboard, eat ONLY when your truly hungry and enjoy exercise, don't make it a burden. Make friends come with you and do classes if the gym is too boring! AND DON'T GIVE UP! it does take ages for the to burn and your metabolism to speed up, it could take months, but as soon as it does then it is just for you to maintain that weight, not working as hard as you did to get it off, but when its off it just needs to be kept up to speed. If you get my drift, I did go the gym nearly everyday, but since i lost the weight I wanted to now i only have to go 3 or 4 times a week to keep my metabolism up and the wight down.
Also with food, you can eat what you want in moderating, listen to your body, are you really hungry? are you really starving? or are you just bored? When eating too, eat slowly and don't fill yourself until your unable to move! there's no need.

To turn it around and give me tips and motivation to keep going ( and it does help him being a fitness manager ;) ) I can't thank you enough. I love you so much!

Eye shadows and Eye Product Reviews

Hello everyone! I hope you are all ok!?

Today's Post is about new products, reviews and tips and tricks.
So lately I have been using my Sugarpill eyeshadows and getting great results with my new MUA brushes. With the brushes they are so cheap and fantastic to use, a great recommendation for you who desire professional brushes for those complex looks but unfortunately like me live by the pennies you find in the bottom of your bag, then these products and brushes are totally the bees knees! Especially the blending brush when doing smoky eye looks or blending in different colors.
As shown on the picture I have started to use sellotape to get that sharp line as i usually end up going to the tops of my cheek....

New MUA brushes and Sugarpill pressed eyeshadows
Hulk inspired makeup, eyebrows are using Sleek Makeup eyebrow palette

A look I did today using Sugarpill pressed eyeshadow, limecrime liquid eyeliner in white and Barry M nude and black lipstick
Saints Row inspired makeup using Sugarpill pink eyeshadow and the 120 palette
Why should eyeshadow just be for eyes? Sugarpill pressed shadow on lips!

Dip dye Disaster and hair colour reviews

Hi guys and dolls! Hope you are all ok!
Sorry ive been MIA for a while, been super busy looking for houses and jobs, hoped to be having an interview this week with a job that got back to me and asked for my photo and a health questionnaire, but no luck. i just want to email them saying 'its manners and curtsy to at least let me applicants know wether or not they have got the job, not leave them hanging in suspense with no peep or email to tell them! AND WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH MY PASSPORT PHOTOS I SENT YOU?! i want them back please.."
Anyways, rant sort of over...for this.

So ive been getting bored abit of my hair colour and in the previous post ive been wanting to go the same colour as Holly Hagan off Geordie Shore, so i took her advice and bought the Manic Panic colour in the colour she said she uses 'Purple Haze'.
Upon purchasing two tubs of the stuff i did a strand test of my own hair instead of risking it all over. As i though i have to have my hair lightened before i have the directions dye on and she bleaches her (nooo way for me!) so i thought id at least get somewhat of a similar colour, even if it has a tint of red or cerise in it. Heres what i came out with:

I is soooo much darker than my hair now! so whats the point of me paying over £50 to have my roots lightened for me to slap dye on and it go just as dark as my natural hair?! and why the hell is hers so much lighter?! plus it was more patchy than an old blanket.

Miffed.

So, -£12 and two usless tubs of hairdye i kept plodding on through the instagram and tumblr pictures and kept comming across this awesome dipdye! I thought to myself, hmmm i think i can do that! it seems pretty simple and ive dipdyes my hair before ( brown with teal bottom).
So i bought some more lighter hair extensions to match my lighter hair (roots growing through yay!) and get some old ones too and get going.

Heres what happened and a step by step instructions on what to do.

1. I usually double up on my extensions, so i usually get one long weve and the fold it in half and cut accordingly to the sizes i want, then sew them together and attach the clips last.

2. Put in the extensions as you normally would, ensure they are straight or as straight as you can get them. This ensures a level line for the dying.

3. then i split them in half and put them into ponytails, then slid them down to the ends to which my natural longest hair finishes ( those two pieces by my neck are the longest. Also you may want to as a few cm more so it gives the hair room to grow and not go over the dipdye line.

4. So i went home bargains and debated between this B Blonde and the XXL blonde, i knew how good the XXL one was but still i was intrigued at the B Blonde and it says on the black that it lightens up to really dark brown. So i paid the £5 and i gave it a go.

About 45 mins later i washed it out
and
excuse my language

FUCK ALL HAPPENED!!!

nothing

nada

zip zilch

so what are we up to on hairdye money? £17?
great, and next payday is a looong way away.

So i ended up sacking it off for 2 days as i was really angry (and coz i prepared the colours to put on after and ened up having to wash them down the sink!)
Then on Monday i bought the reliable XXl and started again.

5. So on the left is my new lighter extensions which it took the cerise out and lightened the natural hair underneath, but the old extensions that i bought from a shopping center in the exact shade (no dying for me!) only lightened a bit, but didn't loose the cerise colour?
By this stage i couldn't give a flyer and decided that instead of two tiers of colour on them, ill just do the lighter ones one colour and the darker another.

6. So on the lighter ones i used the new semi permanents range from XXl Live in blue and then for the darker ones i thought id better make use of the many tubs of Manic panic dye and put it on them.

Then i went to the pub
.
About 1 hour or so later i washed them off, dried them and curled them, and this was the outcome.

They came out ok, not really what i wanted or as bright as i wanted, but it'll do for now.

i really cba, and i wont be doing this again for a while!

What do you guys think?
